I am a New York State licensed clinical social worker with experience working with individuals, couples and families. I also work with creative professionals in the advertising, marketing and tech worlds to prevent burnout, increase job satisfaction and enhance personal relationships. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University and my Bachelor's Degree from The Evergreen State College. I am a life coach with training in the Mentor Coach program.

I gravitated to life coaching because I felt that therapy was not directive enough for some people who were really stuck in their tracks. As well, some clients have already been through the therapy process and want something more action- and process-oriented. They want someone (admittedly kind and compassionate) to hold their feet to the fire. Like therapy, coaching is strengths-based but unlike therapy, your coach can give you real world advice and guidance. Because coaching is entirely collaborative, there is almost constant feedback, making the process lively and engaging. There is some heavy lifting and some emotional stretching, but as your coach, I will always be mindful of your goals. objectives and wishes.

On the personal side, I was born in Brooklyn, NY, and lived there most of my life. I had several exciting careers before training to become a coach and therapist. I worked for many years in advertising as a writer and creative director. I also owned Haystack, a home furnishing store in Brooklyn, NY.  I'm also a photographer and founder of Abandoned Hudson Valley. I sit on several boards, including the Dutchess County Mental Hygiene Board and the Calvert Vaux Preservation Alliance. I'm a culture vulture with broad tastes in art and music. I'm also a lifelong Bruce Springsteen fan and will almost certainly quote the Boss in our sessions.

Coaching can change your life, but the first move is yours. I look forward to hearing from you and seeing how we can work together to get you where you want to go.
